Simon’s advanced and accomplished physiotherapy skills have been developed over a number of years working in busy sports medicine clinics throughout Australia and the UK, as well as through affiliations with a number of professional sporting teams.
Simon graduated from Bond University with a Doctor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Sports Science degree.
He has since worked in private practice clinics seeing sports, non-sporting, work-related and chronic problems and has worked with a number of professional sporting organisations including the Gold Coast Suns Football Club, Gold Coast Titans Rugby League Club, Major League Baseball Australian Academy Program, and Queensland Country National Rugby Championship team. In these roles Simon was responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, management, treatment and rehabilitation of all individuals and helped them to return to their physical best by keeping them pain and injury free.
Simon’s passion for physiotherapy stemmed from his childhood and adolescent years of playing in competitive sports at a national level across several different sports. With this extensive sports background, Simon has a keen eye to identify the mechanical cause of injuries. His injury rehabilitation strategies have an emphasis on identifying and treating the cause of the problem to ensure the individual can return to perform at the highest level pain and injury free.
Simon has a particular interest in lower limb injuries and rehabilitation. He has extensive knowledge in rehabilitation following ankle injuries and ACL reconstructions. His expertise in late stage ACL rehabilitation and the return-to-competition phase of rehabilitation will enable all individuals to return to the top level of competition and succeed in future endeavours in peak physical condition.
Simon’s sports of interest include AFL, Rugby League, soccer, basketball, cycling, running, swimming, triathlon and surf lifesaving.
